I've just setup a N3200 at home on a gigabit network running Cat 5e cabling. Copying from a PC with RAID1 to the N3200's RAID5, it's copying at around 4-6 MB/s using TeraCopy. Shouldn't I be getting much higher speeds?

Firstly are you using Jumbo frames.
Secondly Raid 5 has a write overhead and will be slower to write to than it is to read from.

No I am not using Jumbo frames. I'll turn it on using 4000 and see if that makes a difference.

I should point out that you need to be sure that your other network devices support jumbo frames.

Yes both my network cards support Jumbo frames but only to 7k. The N3200 has 2 options 4k or 8k.

Ok, with Jumbo 4000 turned on the NAS and Jumbo 4k enabled on my network cards, it makes absolutely no difference to file transfers to the NAS. File transfers between PCs doubled though.

What is the performance if you just drag and drop a file or copy in a CMD window?

I can confirm. direct cable on gigabit gives a maximum 12Mb/sec on vista.
Not impressive....

I have the same problem i am copying with only 2,5 - 3MByte/s This cann't be I know that the N5200 is much more powerful but 3MB is to slow
I don't know whats wrong My N5200 is in the same Gigabit Network write speed always over 10MB
Config N5200 Pro 5x Hitachi 1TB Raid5 N3200 3x Hitachi 1TB Raid5
any ideas what could be wrong?
I really have to say that the N3200 disappointed me very very much!
/// Update I restared the N3200 and now I have 4MB never more than 4,5MB also to slow for me I would say that there are some Bugs in the Firmware
