Ok honestly, I am growing a little impatient here. The n1200 is a nifty little device and i like the hardware. The software functions but its nothing to write home about. There was a beta firmware release last year april. We are now 10 months later and havent gotten an official firmware update are any news.
I have to say i am a little disappointed by you thecus!
ps. I realize this probably isnt the best place to whine but i just had to vent somewhere.

I must say, I feel the same way.
It wasn't a very chaep device, so i hoped on a little bit more service from thecus.
I asume these posts aren't good for their selling rates. so i hope they listen to their customers. Because they make them a company.....

I agree, although I'm happy with the bug fixes from the beta, I would like to see a an official release including some more features and fixes!

And still we are waiting...
I'm almost thinking about selling the thing, and buying a new one of a diffirent brand, one that keeps his gear up to date. Media player I disagree, it doesn't even support divx.
What disturbes me is that the N2100 version has the previlege to be updated ones in a while. For example, that thing also supports divx after a new firmware upgrade. Why not do the same with the N1200.
Dissapointment allover at my side. To bad, because it has potential.
I hope i can come back on my statement. We will see.

The DLNA Mediaserver in Thecus NAS is from Macrovision (formerly Mediabolic). N2100 and N1200 are different platforms. N2100 is Intel IOP 80219, and N1200 is Freescale 8347. So, I think the binaries for the two platforms are not released at the same time. N3200 is also using the same platform as N1200, so I think the upgrade should be very soon.

I hope so, it has been to long. I seriously hope for a sleep function, or at least some sort of spindown for the hd before summer!
