External backups are really a need (especially with an external usb/sata writer)
Good features would be: - Targets as hdd or discs: cdr(w), dvd+/-r(w)(dl), bluray/hd-dvd - directories selection - optimized files fitting - media encryption/compression

Tonight I copy a archiv of different files to esata.
Performance was really nice. 894,5GB in 8h24m5s. That make 30,28MB/s.
Now I will make my second copy and then I will check ist with crypto for the whole drive.

The first test is finished. The N5200 is now in Raid5 with a hotspare drive.
I encrypted a esata attach harddisk an copy all the data (894,7GB) from the N5200 to it.
root@127.0.0.1:~# cat script_copy_to_hdd.log Sun Feb 3 22:57:36 CET 2008 Mon Feb 4 11:07:19 CET 2008
It takes 12h09m33s and so we have a average transferrate 20,93MB/s.
Now I will repeat this step exactly with non crypted harddisk an so, I think, we have a ideal perfomance analyse.
