I was looking for some information regarding how to configure SSHD. I am a relative newbie to linux and while I can login to the N5200 with the sys account over ssh, I want to make my users use their own profiles and be directed to their own directories. Does anyone know how/if this can be done with the N5200 and the SSHD module?
I have looked far and wide for a configuration guide to the modules that are available for the N5200 with little result. Lots of help with installing them, but not much on configuring them. I guess they assume we know what the heck we are doing if we get that far! ;D
Thanks

The SSHD configuration file is: /raid/data/module/SSHD/system/etc/ssh/sshd_config For configuration options is the best you use google(i.e search for sshd_config ), then you find i.e the linux man pages for the configuration file: man-wiki.net/index.php/5:sshd_configBut this will not help You for your wishes. Every user which is created via the web interface looks in the /etc/passwd file (this is the place where all users are stored, passwords are encrypted in the /etc/shadow file) like this one: Because of the two entries /dev/null , where the first gives the home directory and the second gives the used shell it is not possible with this user to login via ssh. However, if You change this manually to: then you are able to login with this user and the user is automatically set to the directory /raid/data/hometest during login. Webacces and FTP Access is possible as normal. Be carefull editing this file and don't use a windows editor for it, cause this will destroy the passwd file. There are linux tools to manage these files with more safety (i.e adduser) - I only want you to give some hints where to look. Sorry if it I wrote to much details, but I have no idea how deep Your linux knowledge is. br Peter
