Last week I upgraded my firmware from 1.00.08 to 2.00.01 - all went well. Its been running for a week's uptime since then with no issues. Last night I decided to power the N5200 down to save on heat overnight (hot weather, didn't want to heat up the room !). I powered it down correctly via the shutdown menu. This morning when I powered it up again it had lost the RAID setup. The 3 disks (3 x 750G in RAID 5) were all recognised OK, but all the RAID details were gone and all of my data along with it. Fortunately I still have the backups I took before the firmware upgrade last week so it isn't the end of the world, but I'm now very scared and was wondering if this is a common occurrence. As I write this the rebuild is 50% complete so I don't have any chance to get it back again, but I'm curious to explore if this has happened to anyone else.

I've just noticed that 2.00.04 is the latest official firmware. Methinks I'll upgrade to that while I've got the hood up.

Has the same thing happened since you upgraded the firmware?

I get the same every so often with firmware 2.00.4 in RAID 5 with three disks 750GB Samsung Spinpoint F1.
I was wondering maybe its when the disks get out sync - on all the other raid setups i have done when a disk gets out of sync you just recombine the the disks and the array is back no rebuilding required. Maybe with the Thecus it takes that a failed disk and you have to rebuild. Shoudn't really have to as the data on the so called bad disk is still in tact.
I don't know im still learning about this little beast.
