Hello! I've got follow answer from the Thecus support: Hi Thorstein,
1) "N5200" doesn't contain any existing RAID configuration now." & "The system "N5200" is healthy now." These messages are normal, upon NAS boot up, RAID is in a "dis-assembled" state, NAS then proceeds to "assembly" RAID, and when successful, it sends "Healthy" message. This behavior is by design, and common on all version of N5200 firmware.
2) In your case, the message is not quite the same, please send the configuration file "conf.bin" for analysis, which typically can take 2-4 working days. It can be downloaded from admin web interface. [System > Config Mgmt > Download]
Best Regards !

I got the same error message while an eSATA disk was connected to the N5200. Without eSATA I didn't get it.

Thorsten,
do you have an USB drive connected (and mounted) when you try to shutdown/restart your N5200?

Hello Andreas!
I've never connect an external drive on my Thecus N5200!
This messages are new. They comes after the firmware upgrade from 2.00.01 to 2.00.04. I'm not a LINUX professional but for me the HDD's are not unmount clean. I afraid that I will lost data if I will got trouble from this with my Raid5.
How you think? Make a complete backup and create the Raid5 new?
Best regards, Thorsten :-)

Hi Thorsten,
you are writing that these e-mail messages come every time you restart your N5200?
I disagree with Thecus as these messages (I mean the one which tell that the unmount was not successful) are not normal.
I haven't tried a reboot in the near past yet - I'll do it tomorrow. And maybe I've time to check the shutdown script.
Don't panic because of these messages because it is quite unlikely that they indicate possible data loss. Even though the system couldn't unmount the filesystems (volumes) the automatic filesystem check should be able to correct this on startup. Just avoid rebooting your N5200 too often.
Andreas

Hello, I have found that my Thecus n5200 does not shutdown correctly when pressing power button or entering halt on the ssh login. It does however shutdown via power management or shutdown function in the web gui. The logfile doesn't show any suspicious messages. But when pressing power button or simply issuing halt web services and modules including shares are stopped but the system doesn't shutdown. The display reports self-testing. Any idea? I think this is only happening in 2.00.04 but I am not sure if it occurred straight after the upgrade or later. I think it only occurres since I activated power management but I am not sure. Best regards Jeronimo
