I would like to use the free Gigabit LAN connection I have in my PC but cannot get it working properly. Does anyone know how to set up the extra PCI LAN (static) card so it does not conflict with my on-board LAN card? (DHCP). I would like to have a direct connection to the n2100 via crossover cable without the need of a switch or router. Currently I can only see my n2100 when it is connected to my D-Link switch but if my internet modem is connected I cannot see the n2100, so I have to disconnect my modem from the switch to see the n2100.
Any help would be appreciated

With all of the network cables plugged in... open a command prompt and type ipconfig /all
That will tell us your present network configuration and give us a clue as to what the problem may be.
Also where are your DHCP settings coming from (what device) and what is the ip range in place for dhcp connections?
What are the ip addresses for the two Network ports on the thecus?
Be aware that the second port on the thecus is on a different subnet to the first port (it was for me) and will probably have to be changed.

thanks dbridges,
I used the 2nd lan port on the n2100 (default ip 192.168.2.100) and set my PCI lan cards TCP/IP to 192.168.2.105 and everything worked perfectly.
