Just unboxed it and upgraded firmware to .07. I probably should have searched for the forums first.. but i didn't . Anyway, going over the module list that Andreas has posted I noticed two things. 1) the modules seem to be listed for >= 1.00.06 2) on my 'system' menu there is no 'modules' option. Will existing modules work on .07? Do I need to do something to enable the 'modules' option? Mainly I'd like info, sysuser, and sshd (most of all) but I guess I'm in no rush. It's the RouStor model, not sure if that makes any diff though I suspect not. Thanks in advance. Rollo

Hi Rollo, first welcome to the forum Are You sure Your upgrade went fine - You should see the installed firmware version in the Status -> About menu, The "Module Management" should be in the System menu between "Config Mgmt" and "System Default". I think You must have installed already some Harddisks, cause the modules are stored in /raid/data/module which is on the disks (I might be wrong, but I Think without installed and configured Harddisks the module management will not work) And Yes, the modules are working on 1.00.07 - I've installed INFO, SYSUSER, SSHD, TWONKYMEDIA and META. However, due to a bug in the Firmware the property pages are not working - you will find the explanation and 2 possible fixes/workarounds here: thecususergroup.proboards106.com/index.cgi?board=n5200modifications&action=display&thread=1169579055&page=2Be sure to install the latest version of the modules. br Peter

Peter / Andreas, Thanks for the help - I appreciate it! I deleted the RAID array and started over, removing the % for USB storage and walked away from the box. When I came back tonight the array had finished building (I don't even want to guess what makes it take 8 hours) lo and behold the Module Maint option was under System. I suspect, though I have nothing to back it up with, that though I thought the array had finished building the first time around there really hadn't been time. The system rebooted numerous times and I did notice that when it reboots while rebuilding it goes through the process very quickly (referring specifically to the timer, not the actual process) and then the remaining time and % complete are skewed. Time to start plugging in modules. Thanks!

I purchased this because of the extensibility inherent in an 'open' system but had no idea this community existed. So glad to find it!

I deleted the RAID array and started over .... hmm, seems you had the same problem I had after updating (but I was doing the update from 05 to 06.5) - i assume the /raid/data/module was missing and I had to rebuild the arrray too, then everything was working fine. br Peter

I have another problem: I switched from 1.00.04 to 1.00.07 (used then renmod-firmware-file in the meantime), I see the Module Mgmt Folder - but I can not install a Module! I try to upload the INFO.mod-File, but the browserwindow immediately gets blanked but nothing happens; no upload, nothing. I first blamed firefox, but even with Internet Explorer this behaviour is the same. Is there any explanation to it? I'd like to have a serial console again
