Sorry if this is one of those RTFM questions - but I am not a good reader I did create several folders without setting a quota to any of them. Now I would like to find out how much space is used in those folders and how much there is free space. The tracking of the free space would allow me to schedule the adding of new disks to the array. What are your recommendations for the best practices in the disk space management. Cheers, Ollie

Hi... I don't think you are able to see how much is used in a folder from the N5200-web-gui. At least I can't see it with my firmware. If I wanted to find out, then I do a sum using the client-tools. Like doing the properties of the folders from windows. To check how much you have used on your raid. On the line stating Data Capacity, you have absolute numbers and percentage used. ,

Thanks Quick, In addition that I am not a good reader, I am also lazy I did set the Share Folder Limit to 0 GB for every folder. Once I did change the zeroes to 10, 20, 50, and 100, I saw the new line for Folder Quota Used for every folder. It gives me the exact info I was looking for. For one folder (BU), I left the limit to zero. That folder contains all the backups for all the computers in the network and for different backup types. In a batch file, the following command lines allows me to see all the details for full images, incremental, and differential backups: net use \\n5200\bu password /user:user-name echo .>>\\n5200\bu\DirList.txt echo -------------------------------------------------------- >>\\n5200\bu\DirList.txt date /t >>\\n5200\bu\DirList.txt time /t >>\\n5200\bu\DirList.txt dir \\n5200\bu /s /-c /od >>\\n5200\bu\DirList.txtBy executing this batch file once per month and collecting the "bytes free" information on the last line in a Excel workbook, I can have a trend indicating when I will be running out of space. Note: The \\n5200\bu has to be Browseable and you have to enable UPnP Service to make the full disk images visible to a Recovery CD program that is started without the operating system.Cheers, Ollie
