The system boots, but doesn't show an IP address on the front panel ("WAN: N/A", "Link Aggr: "<nothing>, "RAID: N/A", fan speed and date/time).
It does not display anything for "LAN".
A laptop is connected (192.168.1.7) via a switch (switch shows duplex GigE connection, LAN port on N5200 shows orange and amber LEDs).
Connection to the switch is with the supplied LAN cable. Disconnecting the LAN cable (or using the other port makes no difference).
The setup wizard fails to find the device.
Hard reset appears to do nothing (pressed for 10s on boot). The front panel switches appear to do nothing.
I haven't gone as far as connecting a serial console.
Any ideas?

The problem was never fully diagnosed/fixed. It has since been replaced.

So you are up and running now? If so, good to hear!
Did they say what went wrong? Sounds to me like network interfaces weren't configured or there was a bad firmware install...

We went through a lot of stuff.
Pressing the buttons in the magic order to reload defaults didn't work.
They even supplied a shell script to load via a USB pen-drive on boot ... that didn't work either.
The replacement took ages because the dealer was slow with the return processing and then didn't have stock.
The replacement unit (my original box, no idea if it is the same unit) has the current firmware and is at least talking on the network.
