Don't you have to cross compile to generate the correct binary for the N2100 platform? And a telnet port available... Yes, you would need telnet access (as root) and have to cross compile the source (or find a compatible binary). I thought that the 2100 had telnet access? If it does not, maybe it could added with the module feature? A cross compiling example is documented at david.thg.se/n2100/

The N2100 has SATA connections for hard drives, the transfer rate for SATA is about 150 mega-BYTES / second en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sata It is NOT the hard drives (even in RAID 1) that is limiting the transfer speed. That's the electrical interface speed. The actual sustained disk write speed is considerably less. Western Digital, for the drive I have, claims a Buffer to Disk speed of 748 Mbits/sec (about 92MB/s), but I think that's for short bursts. They don't give a sustained transfer rate. Looking at some reviews, the sustained write rate seems to be on the order of 50MB/s - or 5.2MB.s, depending on the kind of test.

... i want to ask:
the new firmware still limits file names: characters like , ; & are not supported (so they say on the thecus download page) ...
is that still true? what happens, if i try to copy files/folders with those characters to the box? do you think, these characters will be supported in the near future?
PS: my mp3-collection is named exactly like the original songs are - so there are some , and & in it ,-)
thanks for any answer!
