Ah! here's the living proof that Thecus is regularly checking out this forum (three changes and one bug fix mentioned in the list below are directly linked to the activity of members of this forum). Grab it from www.thecus.com/Downloads/n2100upgrade.2.1.05.bin[New Features/Changes] 1. Added an option to set anonymous FTP permissions on admin Web GUI. 2. Changed the "from" info of email notification from "[host name]@[IP address]" to "admin@[host name].[domain]" 3. Added support for ZyDAS ZD1211b based USB WLAN dongles. 4. The “Add” folder button will be hidden in case the folder list is unavailable on [Network / Folder] page. 5. Changed the lower limit of system fan check from 1,000 to 500 RPM. 6. Revised multilingual wordings on [System / Reboot & Shutdown] and [System / Factory Default] pages. [Bug Fixes] 1. Fixed the problem that USB device could not be correctly ejected after One-Button-Copy done. 2. Fixed the problem that module was not enabled when NAS rebooted. getmythe

I want to have a look at it first before i upgrade.
Unfortunately i cant remember the correct command to mount the ramdisk. I stumbled across it a few weeks back but cant get it to work at the moment.
N2100:/raid/firmware/fw5/upgrade# mkdir /raid/ramdisk N2100:/raid/firmware/fw5/upgrade# mount -t ext2 -o loop ramdisk.arm /raid/ramdisk mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/loop0, or too many mounted file systems (could this be the IDE device where you in fact use ide-scsi so that sr0 or sda or so is needed?)

Maybe you want to try this:
mkdir /tmp/mnt losetup /dev/cloop4 ramdisk.arm mount -r -o loop /dev/cloop4 /tmp/mnt
I don't have a N2100 and I don't know if it works for you, but that's the way I mount these files on my N5200.

If it's via FTP then it's probably expected behavior as indicated in the release notes. Is everything else working i.e. shares, gallery, ssh/modules

What ftp settings have you got? The firmware upgrade may have wiped some of your settings or added new settings. Have you contacted thecus?

I've upgraded and so far it seems to work.
SSH still works, my SMB shares are intact and the web admin still works.
Just remember to restore your SSH root password before you reboot.

Typical thecus answer. I've upgraded and have set the ftp server to no anonymous access. Unfortunately i get this... Please note the username is legit but the password isn't and it let me in with full access. When i mess up the username as a test i get It appears that the username "siukee" doesnt exist on the n2100. This was with Filezilla from a windows box. The concern though is that when supplied an accurate username there is no validation of the password.

I can use "siukee" login web GUI by https.....
All accounts also cannot login to FTP server.
There any method to fallback firmware to 2.1.03?
