Has the Slimserver module been transferred to the 4100+ yet? The Firefly Module does not like collections comprised mostly of WAVs and it crashes when I rescan -- I am hoping the Slimserver Module can fare better.
regards

I modified mshapf's N2100 Slimsrv module to the following, and it seems to work.
The NasType install.rdf was changed to the following ----------------------------------------------------------------- <md:NAS> <md:TargetNas>Thecus</md:TargetNas> <md:NasType>N4100PLUS</md:NasType> <md:NasVersion>2.0.00</md:NasVersion> </md:NAS> -----------------------------------------------------------------

Just tried your patched FireFly module on my N4100+. It installs ok, and deactivates the onboard iTunes server as expected. It also appears in the iTunes software.
However, no indexing seems to happen of the items in the music service folder. In the iTunes software under the shared link: Firefly on n4100plus I can seem to connect, but no music is shown.
Any ideas??

Automatic indexing is disabled. You need start indexing by pushing a button on the FireFly webpage. If you want you can also change this behaviour on the same page. Just be careful what options you change.

Ok, now this may sound like a silly question, but where is the Firefly Webpage located. I get nothing on the webpage for my NAS box. Should it be in there?
Thanks for your extremely fast response.

On the Thecus module page, click on any of the module names like SSH, FIREFLY, ... and you will be sent to the respective options page for that module. Usually you will find some documentation on that page plus also settings you may need to change. For FIREFLY there are no setting available, but you will find there a link to the builtin FireFly webserver.

getmythe
Thanks for your help so far, and for doing these mods for the N4100+ community. I managed to get the iTunes server working, just required the folder name to be changed in the end.
If you have and further modules to try and work out, I would be interested in the Twonky ones, they seem to be avavalible on the N2100. We just need your skill to work out how to mod them for the N4100+
Many thanks again.

The uShare web frontend is disabled as it does not offer anything useful
