Firmware version 2.02.01 is available for the N2200Plus on the Thecus download site. There are also extensive release notes for this release available from the download site. This is not a beta release which is surprising as there a number of bugs in this release.
Firstly the good news - it fixed the issue I was having which prevented Windows 7 clients from copying files from the N2200Plus.
Now the bad news: You can't downgrade the flash to an earlier version from v2.02.01.
All v1 modules must be unloaded for the v2 functionality to work.
Selecting the following admin menu options; Storage -> Share Folder or Storage -> ISO Mount will cause the N2200Plus to hang. This means you can not create new top level SMB shares or ISO mounts.
I have also had the N2200Plus hang when I have selected the 'Disks Information' icon on the lower left of the admin page.
The 'Temperature' and 'Network' icons still do nothing.
The system fan speed is still reported as 'OK'. Why can't we have the actual rpm speed?
On the admin module management page the links for 'System Module' and 'User Module' did not do anything on my N2200Plus.
In conclusion it seems that even with v2.02.01 the N2200Plus firmware is still a work in progress and is not receiving very much priority from Thecus. This is a shame as it is a nice unit but lacks the software tools and support to make it fully usable.

Trying to upgrade 2200PLUS from 1.00.00.24 to 2.02.01 using file N2200Plus_FW_2.02.01 downloaded (twice) from Thecus site. When I select the file it shows C:\fakepath\N2200Plus_FW_2.02.01.rom as the path (or whatever file I've used) So I click apply to start the upgrade and it sits on Firmware Upload Version for 20 seconds or so, then I get a message "System firmware upgrade fail". I don't reach the confirm screen. If I try using a ROM file it doesn't seem to log anything. Using the bin file I get Decrypt File Failed in the log. Have tried resetting to factory defaults, still no luck. btw same result with Chrome and IE9, also other firmware files/version (1.00.43, also .rom and .bin versions of files - all from www.thecus.com/Downloads/FW/N2200Plus/Any ideas?

I used the ROM file (N2200Plus_FW_2.02.01.rom) to do the upgrade, which I downloaded from the Thecus web site. This worked first time for me.
I also downloaded the Thecus_NAS_FWUPG.pdf file which provides instructions for performing the upgrade. I'm not sure where this file came from - it might be in the .zip file. However, the instructions can be summarised as:
1) Login as admin 2) In the [System] menu, choose the [Firmware Upgrade] item and then the firmware upgrade screen will be shown. 3) Press the [Browse] button and select the firmware you downloaded. 4) Press [Apply] and the confirm window will pop up.
I can send you the pdf fie if you require it

Thanks. I've been away, but before I went I placed a call with Thecus who told me to upgrade to 1.00.00.28 first, then to 2.02.01. That has gone absolutely fine.
I was expecting to see a dramatic improvement in write speeds but really can't see much difference. Getting around 20 Mbps max but slower over times - copying from internal SATA. Ah well, maybe it will fix itself soon...

Just wondering - did you rebuild or create the raid array under the v2 firmware? Andy
