Just recieved my N5500 and loaded the drives and fired it up excitedly to watch it say self testing for 30 mins. I tried rebooting and same result.
Opened the case and inspected all connections and reseated.
Rebooted and same result.
Removed and reseated Dual DOM modules.
Rebooted and same result.
Noticed switches on DOM modules.
Switched both to opposite setting.
Rebooted and same result.
Switched only one module to opposite setting.
SUCCESSFUL BOOT!
Powered down, alternated switch settings on DOM modules and powered up server.
SUCCESSFUL BOOT!
So what gives. is one module bad? What do these switches do?
Everything checks out and the raid built successfully. Im just wondering what these switches are and why this didnt boot up out of the box.

I have the same NAS and my dom switches came set to opposite settings. I believe that the switches determine which dom is primary and which one is the backup. The NAS gets confused and will not boot if they are both set to the same setting.
