The N2100 user manual says:
"The YES Box N2100 supports external USB hard disks through its three USB ports. Once a USB hard disk has successfully mounted, the entire volume will be copied automatically to the default USB HDD folder. The YES Box N2100 supports up to 6 USB external storage devices."
It then goes on to provide details of the supported file systems if you want to write to the USB storage device.
The question is how do you write to the external disks? Can the N2100 make the external USB disks available to the network?
The manual is not exactly clear on this...

Hello Andy, the simple answer is: yes! You'll find the USB-Disk in a folder of the Network, called \\Thecus_n2100\usbhdd\usb[n] while n is a number for the usb disk. So you can define drive letters for several USB-disks (Up to 6, I guess, I reached 4). For me, the bad news: you can't give specific permissions to these disks, they are public or blocked. I'm astonished, that there was no answer to this simple question up to now.
OK, the traffic here is slowing down, but I will use my N2100 for some time (after struggeling through a little adventure with degraded raid 1 during the last weeks, according to Murphy's Law during a Backup).

I'm in the same boat Roland, i have no reason to change or upgrade my n2100. Hell i even have a spare one kicking around , so i do hope the activity on these forums is maintained.
