I'm a long time N5200 Pro BR user. Just took a look and I'm at 218 days of uptime right now (and that's across several power outages thanks to the UPS : ). It's more than I need - for example, I've never used iSCSI.
I need to expand. Since the N5500 has replaced the N5200, I'm planning on moving on to an N5500. Any reason not to? Any known issues?

Any reason not to? Any known issues? Thecus support is an oxymoron. If you read this thread you'll understand why www.thecus.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=19Personally I would avoid Thecus as my next NAS and plenty of other people who have bought the 5200 have the same feeling. You could just upgrade the HDDs (eg. 2TBs) and continue with the 5200 or if you really have your heart set on a 5500 then you should ask in the Thecus forums about any issues and recommendations with the 5500. Good luck.

I've had a good support experience with Thecus (when a RAID expansion had issues since I created the RAID with one firmware, upgraded, then tried to expand with the new firmware). More importantly, I haven't really needed it. And I've gone beyond the recommended config by using unsupported drives + RAM upgrade.
I've gone forward with an N5500. From what I can tell, everything that's supported on the 5200 is supported on the 5500.
