I put a Gigabyte Mini-PCI card in the N2100. It's working fine except that the only available configuration is AP (master) mode :-( This might be fine for a few configurations, but most of the time, I guess everybody wants it in managed mode, because you already have an AP, right ? Seems that the config is made by /app/bin/wlanchg.sh, but this is not persistent FS, I guess that it is copied from the flash image at boot time. Any hint how to make the modifcation ? I've never gone through modification of this kind in the N2100, I'm rather a "traditional" linux user, not used to embedded versions

After some investigation, it seems that the module used is rt61ap.ko ... which is "only" performing as an AP and can't act as a STA. Too bad - I'll try to ask to Thecus support directly. Probably all what is needed is the rt61.ko (or the rt61sta.ko) module compiled for the ARM used on the NE2100

here is the answer I got:
************ Dear Sir,
Thank you for choosing Thecus product and it is our pleasure to work with you for support ticket xxxx.
The N2100 wireless function is as a wireless AP.
And we are sorry that we don't have a plan to implement any encryption protocol other than WEP. The N2100 is with SOC and the processor is with limited power. So other encryption protocol will make it unacceptably slow.
