I have an N5500 with the latest firmware version. I have both CIFS/Samba and AFP enabled. I can see and connect to the N5500 with the three Win 7 desktops in my office, however my Mac laptop running OsX 10.6 does not even see the server. My mac connects to the office router wirelessly, whereas the windows boxes are all wired to the router. Any suggestions as to what how to fix this problem will be appreciated.

I have exactly the same issue - 3 win7 machines can see the Nas but the Macs cannot - I have downloaded a utillity called Bonjour Browser and it can 'see' the Nas but thats it

I've been having the same problem for the previous days. And today I finally found the culprit: ZFS If you check the release notes carefully, in the ZFS limitations list (a heck long list), it says AFP is not supporting ZFS, all Mac attemps to access a ZFS RAID will fail. d**n, now I'm re-formatting my NAS into EXT3... and I'm at the very top limit of EXT3 - 8TB

Done rebuilding the RAID5 with EXT3. Now works correctly and fast on my Mac (AFP faster than SMB in my impression) The only problem now is that I have to command-K to mount with AFP. The NAS is shown as a PC server in the finder
