Hi,
I am not sure if this is an issue with PUREFTPD, or an issue with a number of FTP clients, or just the FTP protocol in general.
Basically I have a folder /raid/data/documents that has 2,850 folders in it which I need to give people access to via FTP. When they browse it though, they can only see up to about letter "P" (I guess about up to the 2,000th directory).
Is there a way to overcome this (apart from splitting the directory in two)?
Thank you.

Try to start pure-ftpd with the following command line option:
-L 10000:10
where 10000 is the limit after which the listing gets truncated and 10 is the maximum directory recursion limit.
Or add the following to the configuration file:
LimitRecursion 10000 10
Remember to restart pure-ftpd after making changes to the configuration.

Sorry I am a Linux n00b.
I know how to connect to the Thecus via Putty and I know I can use the "vi" command to edit a file. But where is the configuration file located? And where do I add that line to the PureFTPd config file?
Thank you.
