Hi, I've opened a case with tech support a month ago ( CZD-89414-122 ), still no word from them. Anyone listening here?
The main problems so far...
- CIFS ADS or NT authentication doesn't work with Windows 7 but does with XP, OS X 10.5 & 10.6
- iSCSI on OS X ( globalSAN ) doesn't work, only LUN 0 can be seen
- Thecus Support is non existent
I was going to buy several of these N8800SAS 16TB but support is absolutely horrible.
If you are reading these post and considering BUYING one of these, DONT!

pchit has found a workaround for the windows 7 auth issue OSX iSCSI still an issue... thecususergroup.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=n5200installations&action=display&thread=3594&page=1#16771" Figured this out. Looks like windows 7 ships with some restrictive local policies set. This can be resolved by using the following steps: * On the windows 7 system, go into the "administrative tools" control panel * From here, open "local security policy" * Go to "local policies" > "security options" * Set "Network Security: LAN Manager authentication level" to "Send LM & NTLM - use NTLMv2 session security if negotiated" * Set "Network Security: Minimum session security for NTLM SSP based (including secure RPC) clients", uncheck "Require 128-bit encryption" * Set "Network Security: Minimum session security for NTLM SSP based (including secure RPC) servers", uncheck "Require 128-bit encryption" "
