Hi all, I recently bought an APC for powering down my Thecus in case of electricity failure or so. Problem : this model is not listed in the Thecus control panel.
I wrote to the support and they suggested me to upgrade the firware 2.00.16 ==> 2.01.10.17, what i did, but it's still not listed here.
They have close the ticket, and they now just don't respond to my emails... I suggested them to release a new firmware, that should'nt be so complicated... but nothing.
Has anybody any helpful idea ?
Olivier

Hi Peter, Thank you for your sharing. If i select those options then the "battery status" and the "power" stay in : N/A (in the UPS settings) Have you got the same ? Its seems not good because it is not an USB USB but an USB RJ cable...
Did you try to switch off electricity and see if the UPS stops the Thecus properly ?
Thanks,
Olivier
PS : it seems that support team is making tests with different drivers actually... wait and see

Hi Olivier, Yes it's a RJ (on the UPs) and USB (on NAS side) cable, but it works fine. All data are displayed fine (see attached screenshot) and it handles power fails correct. However, my FW version is 3.00.04.5 br Peter Attachments:

Hi Peter, Many thanks for your confirmation. It seems that i use those settings but from the panel control via this adreess (firefox) : 192.168.0.99/adm/getform.html?name=upsI have an "old fashion menu", where did you find yours ? maybe i should try yours cause here it gives no information at all : Olivier edit : sorry i had not read carefully so you said it's a different FW, i'll check to find it and see if it resolve.

the 3.x Firmware was only availlable as beta and they pulled it and since then released another 2.x beta. Some people have reported bad things, others like me had no problem with it, but for the time being I'd stay away from that and I certainly won't dare uploading it and risking other people's stuff

I'm the same opinion as gideon - of course I have the FW and it works fine for me. I use the N5200 only as backup device which fetches all 6 hours the data via rsync from my production N7700. May be the APCUPSD module would be a solution for You: www.onbeat.dk/thecus/index.php/N5200_Module:_APCUPSDbr Peter
