Hey guys,
i have stumbled across a problem that i would love to be able to debug, as it seems quite a specific problem to the n2100 LAN 2 port handling.
Basically i wanted to connect my netgear eva8000 to my n2100 via homeplug adaptors. I bought two solwise piggy 200AV adaptors for the task.
So i had two options for connection the eva8000 to the n2100: set static address for both the n2100 or eva, or let the n2100 act as DHCP server and give the eva8000 and I.P. address. This didn't work for my laptop or the eva8000, regardless if the dhcp server was active or not through LAN2.
So i tried connecting the n2100 direct to my laptop via a cable and it works with both the DHCP server and a static I.P. Hence i thought there was a problem with the piggies.
Now i plugged one piggy straight into my router (which the n2100 is currently connected to through the LAN1 connection) and the other end to my laptop and that works!
So i conclude that what i have is an incompatibility between the piggies and the n2100. Is there anything i can look at through ssh to see what the n2100 is doing with the connection to the piggies?
cheers

Hey all, just wanted to update everyone (if anyone is interested) on whats happened. Since the last post a third homeplug adaptor arrive so that got plugged into the mains.
Eventually i gave up trying to figure out what was going on. I left the lan settings as:
LAN 1: static i.p. address 192.168.1.XX This subnet connects straight to my router, i have enabled iP sharing.
LAN 2: setup as 192.168.2.1 and functioning as a DHCP server between 192.168.2.2 - 50
In the intermediary i connected the homeplug straight into my router too and connected the eva8000 via that. When i checked the connection speed from the eva8000 i was getting 3~6Mbps.
Today i thought i would tackle this problem again. so left the n2100 connected to my routers via LAN1, and connected LAN2 back into the homeplug adaptor. At this point the n2100 split the network into two subnets, 192,168.2.XX being the n2100 and eva8000 connected over homeplugs. I plugged my laptop into the 3rd homeplug adaptor and it was assigned an i.p. address (WTF was my first thought too). It turns out that the dhcp server is now working fine, i get 16~18Mbps connection speed between my n2100 and eva8000, SWEET!!
Currently i am connected on the 2nd subnet with my laptop posting this post through the n2100, i'm shocked that it is working so well! I guess i must have had a dodgy restart or its taken a while for settings to be applied.
