So has anyone apart from N5200profr tried this firmware with the Samsung HD103UJ Spinpoint 1gig drive?
If not I'm gonna stay with my 2.00.11.2 beta... I've had enough fun with firmware releases continually dropping the support for the Spinpoint drives at every release and having to get a beta to get them to work again!

Hi guys,
I'm still running 2.00.04 in my N5200. I was about to upgrade to 2.01.09 but the warning on Thecus' download center stopped me.
I've got five Samsung HD501LJ HDDs in the N5200. Does anyone know what is the latest safe firmware for that drive model?
cheers, :: petri

I have my NAS running 24/7 and use SMB and iSCSI. Rebooted many times recently which is when people usually get into trouble with the Thecus because I've been experimenting with link aggregation and Jumbo Frames and its been absolutely rock solid. So I haven't had any issues but then again I only use it as a simple file store, not a media server etc... or anything too fancy. Cheers

Also no problems with 5 Samsung HD501LJ (rev CR10) in RAID5 - using the N5200 as backup server only (rsync),no rebuild of RAID5, ext3 format - only the memory was upgraded to 1GB. Sometimes I install PUREFTPD and TWONKYMEDIA module for testing it. At the moment I run a "Bad block scan" - no issues so far br Peter
PS: must be a new note, cause I also haven't noticed it after the FW release

I have 5 x [WD RE2-GP WD1000FYPS] in my N5200 Pro and experienced my first raid drop-out last month, sometime after upgrading to this new firmware. I did a full disk scan on all drives, then rebuilt my array with the dropped-out disk. Until this post, I didn't know the formware was the likely cause. I've had no more drop-outs since, so fingers crossed...

I'm one of these people that upgraded to the 2.01.09.
I have 4x WD Caviar Green Drives (WD10EACS), and didnt see that warning (pretty sure I downloaded it from the link on onbeat.dk) when i grabbed the firmware.
Since then 2 different drives have dissapeared and re-appeared and the raid has been rebuilt twice (currently doing it for a 3rd time). Prior to this the system has been flawless.
2009/07/27 14:35:06 N5200 : The system N5200 is recovering the RAID and rebuilding is in progress. 2009/07/27 14:34:19 N5200 : Disk 1 on N5200 has been added. 2009/07/27 14:34:18 N5200 : Disk 1 on N5200 has been removed. 2009/07/27 14:33:55 N5200 : The system N5200 change to degrade mode.
Is it possible to downgrade back to the last working (i assume 2.00.15)? The release notes say no, but theres a previous post here that suggests otherwise...
Is 2.01.10.04 Beta a fix for this particular issue?
Just want to get confirmation before either I brick the Thecus or destroy a drive rebuilding every other day.

That is beyond a massive help. I was not looking forward to potentially waiting till thecus release their next firmware release to fix this... Edit: Firmware now rolled back and raid is being rebuilt. Gogogo

Does anybody know why the FW 2.01.09 is not available any more on the thecus.com site ?
Wanted to do a quick lokk at the release notes, but it has disappeared.

There were apparently a number of issues with 2.01.09. From this thread, I see a number of people had problems with disks dropping out of the array. I had a problem when I tried to migrate from a 3 disk raid 5 to a 4 disk raid 5. Apparently under 2.01.09 raid migration did not work if the array was created under a 1.xx.xx release. Thecus was able to resolve my migration issue without any data loss, but I still cannot create a target USB and Thecus has indicated that there will need to be another firmware release before that will work.

I guess that's one way to get some free Beta testing done.
