I just installed the SSH module on my N3200 (about 30 mins ago) and I was wondering if there was any way to disable the LCD display. My nas is running 24/7 and the display doesn't need to be active all the time. Gives too much light @night :-) So I went searching for a way to disable the display and yes, I found something.. (just for now; when you reboot the nas I'm guessing it will turn back on automaticlly). If someone with scripting experience has more free time then I have he or she can write a module for it. At this moment I just don't have the time for it. First you need to install the SSH en ROOTPWD module to give yourself shell access. When logged in, simply type the following command: echo "LCM_DISPLAY 0" > /proc/thecus_io if you want to turn the display back on use the following command: echo "LCM_DISPLAY 1" > /proc/thecus_io Users with no LinuX/Shell experience: Beware before logging into the NAS and executing commands. You might damage your system!!!!!!!!! Greetings, VC Systems - A Belgian Thecus Reseller -
