I have an N5200Pro since 4 days. The only Thing I have, are troubles with this thing!
I have the firmware: 2.00.9.1
I baught 5 1TB Samsung HDD (cause they are listed in the compatibility list).
It is not possible for me, to shut-down my N5200 and restart it with no HDD disconnect. After every cold-start of the system, one or two hdds are not detected and both lights (blue+green) are on. So, the only thing to solve the problem is hot-unplug these hdds and hot-plug it again. But this is horrible. I baught the N5200pro to use the wake-on-lan function, but when i shutdown the system, one ore 2 hdds are not starting right. I changed 2 hdds but the same probem.

Is the 2.00.9.1 the same as 2.00.9.1 beta?
If you have the specific FW thats supposed to solve the Samsung issue then I don't know what to tell you. Try and exchnage the drives. But everything I have seen is that if you have the right beta FW youll be ok so I would suggest contacting Thecus and make sure you have the appropriate FW.
There is alos a lesser known back plane issue where the middle dirves become unseated but since your on Samsung drives I'd guess its not the right FW before you have the back plane issue which is much rarer.

That was the symptoms before upgrading to 2.00.9.1. After upgrading, I've removed all the HDD. Have re-put them. Have recreated the Raid partition. Now, since 2 months, everything goes fine with the 2.00.9.1. I was surprised by the fact that the new firmware 2.00.10 doesn't include the fix for the Samung drives... (without real explanation by Thecus about why they don't put it into the new version). Hope that they will include soon a definitive fix.

I accidentally installed 2.00.10 on my 5200pro with Spinpoint F1 drives, as you say, it works fine as long as you didn't reboot... Then it would sometimes loose drives on the boot up, and then when you manually ejected/inserted the drive it had lost, it would spend the next day rebuilding it into the raid. Never lost any data, but I avoided ever rebooting it! I emailed Thecus 3 days ago, and have just received 2.00.11.2. I haven't seen any mention of this release before, so I'm not sure if it's just 2.00.9.2 renamed/recompiled to allow me to "upgrade" to it from 2.00.10, or if it really is a pre-release of the next version. I'll give it a go tonight when I'm feeling really brave, and have backed up anything I wouldn't want to loose. Update: Did it, now running 2.00.11.2, raid survived, and now seems to reboot and find the drives without any problem :-)
