Hi, i just got my N299 yesterday and i begin my task of configuration of the NAS.
the following are the specs that i run
1.0.30 beta 2 filmware 2x500 GB Seagate HDD
Network configuration as below Internet --> Router -> Users .........................|-----> NAS ( via WAN Port)
I was able to get everything up and running but however the following issues bugs me 1) WebDisk ----------------- From my understanding, ACL works to only block listing of files on the webpage. it does not block the actual downloading of the files.
e.g. i log into my account, i am able to see the file and download it. afterwards, i copy the link to the file and pass it to a friend. he will be able to dl the file without any authentication.
this post a serious issue because if i were delete the user's account, he/she would still be able to access the files from the net just by clicking on the history section.
2)Folders Viewable by web ------------------ This option seems useless, i tried ticking it off but i have no problem accessing it from the internet. I really don't like the idea that everything in my NAS is accessable via the web without authentication.
3)Unable to turn of HTTP service ------------------ IF i were to turn off http service, i would effectively shutdown my only efficient way of configuring my NAS.
Any idea how this issues can be addressed ?

anyone got any idea ?
my only one on my head right now is the following --------------------------- host an iis /apache server map a network drive to N299
but it defeats the purpose of having a NAS ..
