Hi there,
I am using a tool for waking up my Thecus called "Wak On Lan" by Marko Oette. This tools seems to allow a "Sleep On LAN" but it also seems that my NAS does not react on this while waking up is fine.
Any hints how to get this running (it would be great to put it to sleep without going through system console)
Thanks Klaus

Almost 100% sure that Sleep on LAN is not possible.....
If so, there must be some daemon process waiting for the sleep packet and shutdown the machine and, as you already noticed, there is no such daemon process running...

Hi,
I've been playing with my newly acquired N503 and have managed to write a couple of python scripts to wake it up and shut it down from Xbox Media Center (XBMC).
The WOL is standard send a magic packet stuff.
To do SOL I had to mimic a couple of website calls so it looked as if I was logging onto the web interface as the admin user and then use the showndown option. works like a charm.
In your case its not exactly what you want for remote users having access to the admin account details locally. But if you have a web server up or some other way to connect to your home network, perhaps you could do the same thing?
Hope this helps.

Hi there,
Would these scripts (or any other tool) work with the non pro N5200?
I'd really like to have WOL on my N5200.
Thanks!
