Hello, for my kids I added single use folders for example called "james" and I´ve added also user "james" with password. How can I manage the the windows client mashines of my kids could gain access to this foulders and that the files inside this foulders are owned to the regarding user ?
I get that far that the NAS ist included in the used windows workgroup and that my kids could see the folders but every time that they try to open up a document inside this user folders the gat the message that the do not have permission to this file.
Any hints ?

When your kids mounts the james share, they should be asked for a username and password. Just use then user james and the corresponding password and everything should be alright.
But remember: Windows isn't be able to mount different shares with different usernames and passwords (Windows is too limited here).
And maybe you need to disable the "Use simple filesharing" option in the property settings of the windows explorer (I don't have it in mind, how this setting should be).

We did like you said and I've created one user folder for every single user. It is working by now. Thank you very much.
