Thanks for the info.
I managed to crash one of my N2100 units.
I installed the webcam app, and then connected my cheap puppy cam (its a camera in the nose of a plush puppy). I then went to the webcam page, selected preview. The unit then stopped responding to all traffic, incliding ping.
Remove the cameras, power cycle and it works. I then plugged my camera back in, selected the preview and the unit locked up.
Because I am using external hard drives and the META script, my smb.conf file was trashed. I managed to restore this from another unit.

mint adding these as i type althou ready webserver pdf they say it how to use SQL lite id rather have MySQL !!!!! so thecus if u read this if u added that ud make ur product compete against SYNOLOGY as i m after another NAS box and tempted to get one of there DS207+ box's as its got MySQL built in it ! so if u want me to buy another thecus product u better add it as added a chroot debian and mysql just isnt right as i could spend the same amount on another product and get MySQL built in and u cant say it wont work as n2100 is 600mhz, 128 up to 512mb ram vs SYNOLOGY 266mhz/500mhz, 64/128mb ram so if a 266mhz and 64mb ram it works then n2100 is more then capable

No supported camera list (in the documentation) that I can see.
I wonder what the primary driver is.

I ve installed the webcam module and it works great !
You can have a stream connected to it, choose for capture (just have to define the time interval and the date) or both.
Three videos size are possible : 160*120 320*240 640*480
My webcam : laptec webcam pro.
Two words : thanks Thecus !
