I wonder how I can reset the N299 to factory default if the webend is unreachable? I turned off the WAN interface. but now I cannot reach the NAS via http. why? I can still ping the nas, so why is isn't it answering on port 80? anyway, the method described in the manual to push five secounds the reset button isn't working. Also pulling out the battery had no effect...

did you try to run setup wizard? 1. run wizard 2. click start 3. wait for scanning 4. it should find you nas if it is still alive. 5. if found, select the nas shown on the list 6. click on the start browser
if 5 failed.... u need to wait for expert to help you....

WOW lots of questions still with no answers.....
On the back of the N299 you will see a small hole near the network ports. Turn your N299 off, push and hold this button and turn the unit on. wait min 20 secs,, release the button and wait 3 to 5 mins till the unit beeps. You should be at default settings.
