Two big reasons hoping for Andreas to bump this to 7.0.1.. Duet screen playing fix and hopefully enable Thecus SpinDown! Andreas...you still planning on updating this module? I know its not an easy module to update!

Hi itlan and all others.... the are several reasons why I didn't finish the work on 7.01: 1) lacking time 2) unclear status for version 7.0.1 I remember someone told me that it would/could be wise to wait until it is known if 7.0.1 fixes the HDD spindown problem and some other issues. I haven't had the time to track the discussions for SqueezeCenter.... What is the current status? Should we wait for 7.0.2 or should we just try 7.0.1 Even though, I still need to find some spare time.... sorry mates, not so easy at the moment.... Andreas

Well 7.1 should be out soon, so if you don't have a lot of time, perhaps waiting for that would be a better idea. wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/SoftwareRoadmap7.1 doesn't have a release date asigned to it, but it should be pretty soon, especially with 7.2 penciled in for the middle of August (although we all know how easily that can slip).

Did a bit for browsing and I dont think 7.01 is unstable. Seems as though every NAS is running it. Having said that, it doesnt appear to generically fix the hibernate issue either. Sometthing about it still requires a SWAP file which accesses the hard disks and keeps it alive unless moved to a USB partition etc. ReadnyNAS seems to have done alot of custom work to make sure it works and QNAP is hit or miss with it being mostly misses for Duets and iffy for SB3. If 7.1 is just around the bend I'd vote at this point just wait for that and those of us hoping hibernate gets fixed probably shouldn't hold our breath But if it magically does work then early Christmas present. 7.1 does seem to have a fair number of bug fixes as well so I'm sure that will be welcome as well!

Absolutely I'd wait for 7.1
Andreas, I'd love to get involved in maintaining the SqueezeCenter module if you can see a way to make that work...?

Another vote for 7.1. There was mention of a 7.0.2 version but seing as 7.1 is expected within a month might as well wait for that.

Yep, but 7.1 has an annoying bug or two so 7.1.1 was released also. It's available in the nightlies and any module build should preferably be based on that.

Any chance of an update based on the latest non-beta build? There are several bug fixes and feature enhancements I'm interested in.
Thanks again for creating this great module!

Omega probably only has time to do one build, so I'd vote 7.1.1 if we have a choice. When I used to run SC off my Windows box I ran nightlies all the time and never had an issue. So while it's not "official" I think its a safe bet running that with key bug fixes is better then 7.1 fwith a couple known issues.
Ultimately up to Omega, but I hope we get one soon!

Does the directory containing the music files need to be public? If not, how do I set it up such that Squeezecenter has access to the directory?
I had a directory under ACL control but SC couldn't access it until I made it public. I'm hoping this is not the way it has to be - that would be a major limitation.
Thanks!

@ Omega Any change you will integrate iPeng (iPhone Plugin for Squeezecenter) in future ? Thanks for your feedback. Link to information: penguinlovesmusic.de/

nlrela, you can use the ssh & sysuser modules now and install the iPeng plugin in about 5 seconds! It works well and I use it. It doesnt need to be compiled into the base code by Omega. Someone posted the instructions on this site (or maybe it was the slim forums) on what you have to do to install them, its really very basic and not more then 2 min of work. If I can track that post down I'll link it here later tonight. Second thought, it just follows the same format as the install guide, so install ssh and sysuser and follow iPengs instructions on where to place the plugin info etc. Once you do you'll have to stop and start Squeeze to get it to take hold. Also don't go past 4.5 as the latest versions requires 7.1 and were still on 7.01. 5.1 might work, I didnt see anything that said it was 7.1 only but I'd go read the release notes before jumoing into that But I'm staying at 4.5 for now
