I would like to have some samba shares that are read only but do not require authentication. Is this possible with the default interface or any available modules? I'm looking for the same behavior you get when you share a folder in Windows with the "don't allow users to change my files" option.

It's going to involve some manual config changes to your smb.comf and it may be difficult to achieve in general because of ATL permissions. SSH in and use vi to add a read only directive to /raid/sys/smb.conf |
