Hi! I've just collected my number 3 YES Box N2100, as the first one frequently reported an error saying that the system fan did not start. I was told by Thecus' technical support, that I could simply replace the N2100 with a new one; and install the two Seagate (found on Thecus’ listed of approved hardware) hard drives in this unit - it would work perfectly. I got a new (no. 2) from the distributor in Denmark. This one did not connect to the LAN. I obviously disabled any kind of firewall on my PC. But I couldn't find the unit - not via the "Thecus Setup Wizard" and not via my web browser. Today I've just made a new "swap" and have now installed a new (3rd) unit. This one has got the same LAN issue - I can’t find it on my LAN. The physical connection between the N2100 and my router is OK, as the LED's on the router and on the N2100 LAN port is illuminated (green). I've tested my router (Linksys WRT54G) and all ports are operational. I've tried both LAN ports on the units... I've even powered on the unit without any had drives installed. I've verified that my router does not filter on MAC addresses. Same result - no connection to the LAN I can't think of anything else. Please let me know if you have any input on how to solve this issue!!! Kind regards Mikki

Be care that you don't use a cross ethernet cable.
The default thecus ip is 192.168.1.100
Try to set yours to 192.168.1.101 (for example) with a 255.255.255.0 mask
Make a ping to the nas, it should work.

Hi spiken! I was using the same cable as with the first N2100, also I tried two other cables. Almost desperate and without any good reason I dug out an old Cisco router and temporary replaced my Linksys WRT54G router. For some reason that did the trick - I was able to connect to the unit using the Thecus Setup Wizard, configure the unit. Then I swapped back to the Linksys and now it's up running... Thanks for your input though, I really appreciate it! Br Michael
