If you use the SSH module you should be able to use SCP which a lot of SecureFTP clients are able to connect via.

Doesn't seem to want to work for me with SCP...
I'm using WinSCP which connects first time when using plain old FTP, but doesn't get anywhere with SCP as the protocol.
I'm a little unhappy about opening up a vanilla FTP server to the internet, is there anything anyone can recommend as to how to keep it nice and secure?

you do have the module installed? Just to make sure that you didn't just try it on a plain box without the module. It also needs the module Sysuser so you can login.

My bad, I was trying to connect on the port I had set FTP up on rather than port 22.
Gets me connected fine, but even with specially created users (with correct home dirs etc.), it allows them to navigate anywhere they want (pretty much), which is quite worrying.
Also, did anyone else notice that the performance under SFTP is about a tenth of that under FTP? 5MB/s vs. 50MB/s, if anything, I found FTP to be faster for transfers than CIFS!
