Hi,
Has anyone ever considered doing a BOOTP module? It looks like there's already a TFTP module, so BOOTP is all that's lacking for diskless workstation support, right?
It would be really cool to have. Another step towards making my network easier and easier to maintain!

So you want to boot the OS over the network?
Maybe adding bootp support would be not that hard but what do you want to boot then?

wow, diskless demo stations at shows, conference, small labs, internet cafe, etc... the possibility are endless. I may have to test this out.
I have 5 thinclients that I have been trying to figure out what to do with, so this would give me a great test bed to try. I may just upload the BOOTP server and give it a test to see performance on this thing. I have been looking at 2X thin client software and I can see a small office or internet cafe, low power/noise internet in every room at home running on this easily.
too many things to try, not enough time........
