Suggestions on a power supply fan change?
Original Fan: Sunon 40x40x20 8200 RPM 10.8 CFM 27.5 dBA (rated) - Loudest thing in my office - more like 30 dBA
Something in the 20-22 or less dBA would be nice. Any suggestions?

8200 RPM is the problem here.
Quiet 40mm fans are almost impossible. Unless you drop the RPM (which applies to fans in general) noise wil be a problem.
I am going to try the Papst 412/2 (6 CFM, 6000rpm) and see what the (exhaust) heat does.
If that is not satisfactory I will try making a custom top plate for the power supply. With more venting holes the 92mm HDD fan can be made to cool the power supply.
Another possibility is to use a 40mm-60mm adapter plate. This will need some handy work, but even a slow spinning 60mm fan delivers more CFM than a high reving 40mm fan.

I looked at the exhaust temp of the power supply yesterday.
Since I am still in the process of moving into my new house I did not do any real measurements, but it is definitely 'warm'. So going for anything less than 10CFM, like the original fan, might not be a good idea.
So probably the 40mm-60mm adapter with 60mm fan is the best option of reducing noise.

Don't overlook the simplest sollution Do not modify the N5200, but place it where it is not disturbing anyone. I've put mine in a storage-room. ,

I have also been troubled by the noise, and decided that the power supply fan was just too hard to fiddle with. 1. first I replaced the system fan with a nexus 92mm fan at 1500rpm, which was quieter, but the exhaust from it and the PSU fan was noticeable hotter, 2. I then got out my Dremel tool and enlarged the fan aperture, and inserted a Vantec Stealth 12cm fan running at 1500rpm, and the system is much quieter, and cooler. The Vantec is not the quietest fan but it only draws 0.08 amp and so takes less current than the original fan. I also mounted it on a salacious sheet with rubber "screws". In mounting a 12cm fan it has to be hard up against the upper PCB supports, so that there is clearance below it for the fan connector. I will wait till late at night to get a final verdict on the noise, but at least now I have the option of mounting a lower revving 12cm fan such as the Nexus if this is still too noisy. If anyone works out a way to quieten the PSU fan please post it.
