Good: 1. Linux based 2. Nice box design 3. Stable running 4. Supporting Raid 0,1
Bad: 1. Small housing with very loud 40mm fan 2. No real involvement of Thecus in user groups 3. Mediocre support
Suggestions: 1. Maintain a developer community with more openness for the SW which can be further developed by the community. This will make Thecus rich as they earn their money from the HW and not the SW. Similar cases have been seen with Linksys WRT54G Router after they released the firmware etc. 2. Answer to support emails, make a detailed WIKI and FAQ on their website
Good 1. Nice Look, compact, functions well for what I need it for (FTP, RAID 1). 2. Interface is not that bad, easy to manuver between the screens\menus 3
Bad 1. For me, set up was a huge PITA, but it was a learning experience on all fronts. It certainly would have helped if Thecus would have had some half way decent trouble shooting FAQ's and directions. 2. It can get hot...I would have liked to have seen more room for air flow and a couple of fans. My temps are roughly in the low 40's. 3. The case is plastic, cheap looking. I would have liked to have had rubber feet on the bottom so the 600 dollar unit doesn't slide off the desk which has almost happened to me already.
I have gotten the no stick stuff like others have mentioned to combat that issue.
All in all I am happy with the device, I hope they continue to expand the functionality and improve performance.
