Hi
When I try to uploade the new firmware, it returns with this error message:
System -> Firmware upgrade -> Browse = "N5200upgrade.2.00.01.bin" -> Apply
******* Fail System firmware upgrade fail : *******
About :

flexyz, did you check if the downloaded file is complete and without errors. On the Thecus download page for each file there is a .sum file. This file holds the MD5SUM of the .bin file. If you don't have any Linux box running, check your favorite internet search tool for the keywords md5sum and windows. Andreas

Where do I find the md5 value?
- tried to download more than ones, and compared the file, no diff.
Thanks

The MD5 sum file for the firmware 2.00.01 is here: www.thecus.com/Downloads/N5200upgrade.2.00.01.sum But it seems file integrity is not the reason here.... I've two ideas left: 1) If you have SSH access to your device, please check the text file /tmp/message for messages/errors. This file is written during the upgrade process. 2) Check the system logging using the Thecus administration web pages (System->Logs). There should be fail message there with some letter in a number in square brackets, like "M[6]". Please post this/these message(s). Andreas

You need to install the SSHD and SYSUSER module. Then you can login via SSH (not telnet) e.g. using the PUTTY program. There is really nothing in the system log about your firmware upgrade try? Let's see what's in the file /tmp/message (hope it still exists).... Andreas

How do I install the "You need to install the SSHD and SYSUSER module."??
I did a telnet test on port 22, just to se of if the SSHD was running, and it is not running.

And Modules for 5200 is also working on 5200PRO? Just to be sure Felix

Yes, the firmware for N5200 and N5200PRO is exactly the same. There are some processes which are only started on the N5200PRO due to marketing reasons but this has no influence on the modules.

Thanks - But "System"->"Module Mgmt" is not present, only option to upload/download config and firmware

You need to create a RAID or JBOD first to see the module option. (see some other threads)

It's also ready with creating the RAID-set? Maybe a reboot? Otherwise I don't know...
