Interesting.
My new Array is 31% built at the moment. I have allocated 1% to RAID and left the rest free for iSCSI. I will trial it later this evening. I am hopeing it will speed up reading. I tried to play a 1080p HD trailer (Magic of Flight) yesterday and it stuttered 4 or 5 times while streaming from the Thecus over a Gigabit connection. It played flawlessly from a local Drive!!!!
Oh well, we shall see.
BTW can you access the Thecus using iSCSI simultaneously from two clients machines?? Thanks Jet.

Why don't you just put iSCSI on the RAID?

Hi cheburashka. Yup, thought of that. But I had allocated all of the available RAID space to data a month or so ago. There did not appear to be a facility to allow me to reduce the Data space and allocate the remainder to iSCSI. Everytime I tried to allocate space to the iSCSI it kept saying " no free space to allocate"?? I gave up and rebuilt the RAID allocating only 1% to data. the build has now finished and allowed me to allocate 99% to iSCSI. Was this wrong?? Cheers, Jet.
