Is there any way to set up ACL in sub-directories? I don't think I'll be able to utilize this product if there is no way to do this. I've read the instructions, and there isn't any deffinitive way to acomplish this. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Apologies if I'm pointing out something you already noticed, but there is a "recursive" checkbox in the acl window. Unchecking this should allow folders inside the main folder to have different permissions. I would imagine that you could then set permissions on sub-folders in Get Info (for macs) or the equivalent in Windows.
Perhaps someone with more experience can confirm this?
