I have just upgraded from 2.0.05 (where all was working fine!) to 2.1.0 and disaster has struck, the firmware process completed correctly and in the web browser I confirmed a restart.
The 2100 restarted, but never completes its reboot process, its stops with the Orange light flashing (from the manual stating it is starting up). I tried this a number of times after pulling power out... and even left it 6 hours to start. To no avail.
I have 2 drives,
Drive 1: Maxtor 6B200M00 Diamond Max 10 SATA150 (200gb) Drive 2: Maxtor 6V300F00 Diamond Max 10 SATA 3gb (300gb)
With both drives installed as before, the unit does not start, when I remove Drive 2 or start with no drives I can access the Web interface and see that the 2.1 firmware did install.
I have tried putting the 300gb in the Drive 1 bay, and it does start!! But I don't get access to my data
So basically the problem seems to be the 6V300F00 in 2nd Drive Bay, since upgrading to latest Firmware.
My problem is that I had a JBOD config (I think) and with only 1 drive in, I cannot get access to any of my data. HELP!!
I have not tried a full reset, will that make any difference.
Can anyone help please?

i faced similar problem. I had 500gb and 250Gb HD and they work fine with 2.0.05 firmware and it refuse to work with 2.1.0. I tried numerous methods and never get the n2100 to work with both drives or able to get my datas back. I end up just having the 500GB HD in the n2100. I lost 400Gb of backup, since then I dont use N2100 as backup any more.
