I've been able to get it working by turning off AD authentication and just using normal samba shares, but would really like to use the integrated AD I submitted a ticket about this and will post again with any updates I get from thecus.

Figured this out. Looks like windows 7 ships with some restrictive local policies set. This can be resolved by using the following steps:
* On the windows 7 system, go into the "administrative tools" control panel * From here, open "local security policy" * Go to "local policies" > "security options" * Set "Network Security: LAN Manager authentication level" to "Send LM & NTLM - use NTLMv2 session security if negotiated" * Set "Network Security: Minimum session security for NTLM SSP based (including secure RPC) clients", uncheck "Require 128-bit encryption" * Set "Network Security: Minimum session security for NTLM SSP based (including secure RPC) servers", uncheck "Require 128-bit encryption"

I have got the same problem. I am using a N5200PRO with firmware 2.00.14 in an Win2003 AD. Win 2000 and XP clients are running well, but our new Windows 7 client can not access the shares by AD authentication. I have tried the suggested solution, but it did not help.

If you have already tried and failed to connect, it's possible that windows 7 is storing some incorrect session information.
Go to Control Panel -> Credential manager. Here you should remove any existing credentials for connecting to your thecus. Once you have done that, reboot and you SHOULD be able to connect.

I have updated the firmware to version 2.00.16 (it was 2.00.14 before) and now it works.
"Network Security: LAN Manager authentication level" is set to "Send LM & NTLM - use NTLMv2 session security if negotiated"
"Network Security: Minimum session security for NTLM SSP based (including secure RPC) clients" AND Set "Network Security: Minimum session security for NTLM SSP based (including secure RPC) servers"
both have checked "Require 128-bit encryption"

Just to make it clear. You folks have been able to get a Windows 7 system authenticated by an NT DC with the steps outlined here?
